Qingdao Huanghai University Safety Regulations for International Students (Revised)

In order to ensure that international students complete their studies safely and successfully, these regulations are formulated in accordance with the university''s safety management system and the regulations on student disciplinary actions.

Article 1 International students must abide by Chinese laws and regulations as well as the rules and regulations of the university, abide by Chinese social morals and respect Chinese customs and habits. Any violation will be punished by Chinese laws and regulations as well as disciplinary actions of the school.

Article 2 International students must apply for residence permits and procedures for changes and extensions in a timely manner in accordance with the relevant regulations of the exit-entry administration departments of the public security organs. Violations will be punished by fines, detention or deportation by the law.

Article 3 The school respects the national customs and religious beliefs of international students but does not provide places for holding religious ceremonies. Following the Regulations on the Administration of Religious Affairs and the principle of separating education from religion, it is strictly forbidden to wear religious clothing or religious symbols, or to conduct religious gatherings, proselytising and other religious activities in the school.

Article 4 International students must study and live according to the school's work and rest system. It is strictly forbidden to make noise or hold parties in the dormitory that affect the rest of others, and it is also prohibited to return home late, stay out late, stay with outsiders, or go out on your own. International students are required to swipe their cards when entering or leaving the campus, and are not allowed to enter or leave the campus between 22:00 pm and 6:00 am. In case of special circumstances, students are required to obtain a leave of absence and register with the Security Office.

Article 5 International students must abide by the traffic rules of China, and it is strictly forbidden to drive without a license or any vehicle that does not comply with the traffic laws and regulations.

Article 6 International students must fulfil the procedures of leave of absence and cancellation of leave if they need to leave the university or cannot participate in the course study or teaching activities due to illness or other reasons, and they must register in accordance with the regulations if they stay at the university during the summer and winter holidays. Every “May Day”, “National Day” and other holidays, international students are required to report their holiday plans in writing and leave emergency contact numbers for themselves and their parents.

Article 7 International students must abide by the relevant regulations of China and the university on the use of computer networks, and must not log on illegal websites or disseminate harmful and false information.

Article 8 International students are not permitted to take up employment, engage in business or engage in other business activities during their studies.

Article 9 Alcoholism, fighting, harassment, watching obscene videos, cheating on purchases or rides, damaging public or private property, theft, gambling, drug use, drug trafficking, prostitution, whoring, and other disciplinary offenses are strictly prohibited.

Article 10 It is strictly forbidden to store flammable, explosive, toxic and other dangerous goods; it is strictly forbidden to swim in rivers, lakes, ponds and unguarded and unmanaged waters; it is strictly forbidden to play in places with dangerous natural conditions; it is strictly forbidden to take part in dangerous activities such as mountaineering, exploring, rock-climbing, rafting and so on. If any violation results in personal injury or death, economic loss or other adverse consequences, international students shall bear full responsibility.

Article 11 International students who violate Chinese laws and regulations and constitute criminals shall be punished according to the law. Violation of school rules and regulations shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary sanctions depending on the seriousness of the circumstances.

Article 12 These regulations are applicable to the international students of the University, and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation is responsible for their interpretation. The foreign language version is only to help the international students understand the content of the regulations, and the final interpretation and implementation shall be based on the Chinese version.

Article 13 The present Regulations shall come into force on the date of the promulgation.
